devendra tickets: probably the best thing i have gotten in the post in a long time. the other night i cut my bangs with one hand while brushing my teeth with the other: incredible multi-tasking. tonight i have a really big midterm in my cubism class. do you know how similar picasso and braque paintings look: very. eugh. oh yeah, and i fell off of my bicycle the other day too and i have three suuuuper good bruises. |

nars velvet matte lip pencil in cruella is a dream. i only take photobooth photos of myself when i am procrastinating, like right now. i have two essays and a midterm next week, none of which i feel ready for.

i never know what to write when i come here, so i don't really come here very often any more. but the weather is finally better (we had almost two weeks of non-stop rain) and the garbage strike is finally over (thank god). this week is going to be pretty busy. it's the last week of classes at uni (i've been taking summer classes), and on tuesday i am going to see fleet foxes. and i have work a few nights this week, and i have to shoot this band on thursday called the tom fun orchestra. the other week i had to shoot japandroids. i thought it was going to be fun but it wasn't. i have been going to the beach a fair bit (well, when i am free and it is sunny), and last wednesday was alex's birthday. i'm pretty sure i killed both my wallet and my liver, and when i was walking home i took a bicycle. i never would have done that sober. i was going to give it away, but i've become too attached to it. i've already named it (Geronimo!). it's red. i like it. one my friends is visiting from england for six weeks (i thought he was going to be here for ten days, but surprise. im not mad, i just feel like i have to think of a lot more fun places to take him). and one of my other friends is coming back to visit from victoria in september and arianna is coming home soon too. oh, and i can legally bartend now, which i find absolutely hilarious. i've been listening to Neil Young's Live at Canterbury House a lot lately, & I've been reading a lot about Eva Hesse. oh! and i have a show coming up. it's at awol gallery (on ossington). the opening is august 15th, and it runs until september 6th. come!

hello. this right now is the poorest i have been in three years. i got a new job though, but it doesn't start until the ninth of march, so i basically will be eating cheese on toast and only doing free things until then. that's ok. the weather is getting less like winter and more like spring (it has been raining more, as opposed to snowing), and that is ok too. yesterday i had a midterm in which we were given eight illustrations and told to "use our imaginations" to describe what is happening in them. i could have written absolutely anything? i don't know how our instructor will be marking those. i have a midterm in french cinema on monday, and i have two proposals due on monday as well; one for pixel gallery and one for lens factory, both of which i am working on with steven. my picture was in the society pages last week. i want to buy a trench coat, a new dress, or maybe two. i have shortbread in the oven. i have a lot of film to drop off, but i can't afford to pick it up, so that will have to wait for a little while. i'm thinking of selling some things (clothes, cameras) but i dont' know how to do that or where to begin. i have a lot to draw. I know that you are fast but it's much faster and after a while you can't keep up so you start to lag behind but it doesn't know that you've resigned so off a cliff it falls to the sea and you are sad but the sea is not mine,

I am completely over the hill right now. I have two essays due next week and three finals the week after. Last Saturday I got taken for a sweeeeet drive in an ugly hummer and I quit my job. I have never quit a job before without finding a new one first, but I just could not stand it anymore. I didn't even give them two weeks notice. I just left. I felt so relieved, but then I kind of started panicking because now I have no income haha. Fantastic.
I am so excited for December (once uni stuff is finished). No classes and Christmas and my birthday and New Years and getting ready for my group show, which opens at xpace gallery January 9th.
I accidently double-exposed an entire roll of film, which I am not too too pleased about. I am supposed to shoot this band soon, but they are not very good, although a little bit popular... I hope they pay me, or at least pay for developing/printing costs. We'll see how that goes... Oh, and Fem asked me to do all the hoa hoa's upcoming album art. Exciiiiitingggg.

I dont feel as though I have much to say lately; nothing is too new. I have just been working a lot and going to uni and I already have a midterm next week, in Canadian Painting, but I dont feel as though I've learned anything yet. My instructor for that course is a curator at the National Gallery and his face is always red; I think he drinks a lot. We have had a lot of hilarious (mis)adventures as of late, and Thursday I am leaving for a little while, to go to Montreal and Ottawa also. There is a boy in my french new wave cinema class that has a Robbie Williams desktop on his computer. I have been obsessed with mood rings lately, and gypsy weddings and Vashti Bunyan's caravan, as well. |
